Press release

“A Salute to Percussions”

On behalf of HIV POSSIBLE, Sistas Organized to Survive (SOS), and the Wake Forest University School of Divinity Faith COMPASS HIV & Faith Ambassador Program, we are excited to share highlights from our community outreach event, “A Salute to Percussions,” which took place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the historic Smitty’s on Sistrunk in Fort Lauderdale. This culturally grounded event was intentionally designed to engage and uplift the Black community while addressing critical health concerns that disproportionately impact underserved and high-risk populations, including HIV, Diabetes, and Kidney Disease. Through the powerful blend of music, faith, education, and community dialogue, the event created a safe and affirming space to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and promote linkage to care and supportive resources. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), our Platinum Sponsor, for their unwavering commitment to community outreach and their continued support of HIV POSSIBLE’s mission and work within the communities most impacted by HIV.
